External VET (EVET)

Overview

Schools deliver VET courses, while eVET courses are delivered through external Registered Training Organisations, such as:

- TAFE NSW
- NSW Health
- Taronga Training Institute
- Academy of Interactive Entertainment
- Whitehouse Institute of Design

Students may only access one EVET course. For students applying for courses delivered by Taronga Training Institute or NSW Health, a backup may be selected, however, students must select ONE if offered a place in the course.

Where a course is available at a Sydney Catholic Schools Training Centre, within reasonable travelling distance, students must attend this course rather than with another provider.

Application

Students interested in undertaking an EVET course, must discuss the options with their school to ensure it is the right course and pathway for them, ensuring it has relevance to their future career pathway. 22nd August

Students must follow the application procedures by meeting submission dates.

The following must be submitted by the 22nd August 2025:

- Google Form
- Expression of Interest - students are to return this to their school

Students must accept one of their offers in November 2025.

Please note, submission of an expression of interest, does not guarantee a place in the course. Sometimes courses do not run if there is insufficient demand.; and sometimes there is not a sufficient number of places available to meet student demand for the course.

EVET Fees

In most cases, EVET courses attract an additional cost to participate. Students will be informed of the cost of the course prior to accepting their offer in November/December. The cost of accessing an EVET course is added to a student's school fees in Term 1 2026 for one-year courses; and Term 1 2026 and Term 2 2027 for two-year courses.

Please note, students do not receive a discount on school fees, as EVET forms part of a student's pattern of study.
