EVET Expectations

Overview

By undertaking an EVET course, you must agree to the following:

- I will meet submission deadlines when applying for EVET in relation to expression of interest and application forms.
- Complete all my homework and competency tasks in the required timeframe, and to the standard required.
- I will work hard in my VET course, doing the best I can in my classwork, homework and competency assessment tasks.
- I will always act in a safe and cooperative manner.
- I will respect the rights of my fellow classmates to learn and study under the best possible conditions by behaving appropriately in class and approaching tasks with a positive attitude.
- I will be responsible and honest in my actions and I will be accountable for these actions and accepting of their consequences.
- I take responsibility for my area in class in both theory and practical lessons by ensuring that it is kept clean and equipment/property of the school and others is taken care of.
- I will actively participate in the work placement program and other work placement opportunities at school by arriving to the workplace on time; displaying an enthusiastic attitude; undertaking tasks correctly and in a safe manner; and filling out the necessary paper work on time to demonstrate competence and facilitate the administration process.
- I will develop my employability skills such as effective communication; teamwork; problem solving; organisation; taking initiative; learning new skills; and self-management. I understand these employability skills are essential for my success in this course, in class and during work placement.
- I will participate and complete end of course and module evaluations.
- I will catch up on work missed as a result of attending by VET class.
- I will submit assessment tasks prior if they are due when the VET class is scheduled.
- I will ensure I arrive on time and will make may own way to and from the delivery site.
- I will ensure that I am on time to class, both at the start and after any breaks.
- I will ensure that I will stay focused for the entire VET class, which is approximately 3 to 6 hours (hours depend on the course and RTO).
- I will ensure that I bring the required uniform and any other materials requested by the teacher to every lesson.
- I will complete the online work that is allocated on a weekly basis.
- I will ensure that I attend all of my VET classes, unless I am sick or there is another valid reason for not attending. I will email my VET teacher and I will notify my home school when I will be absent.
- I do not have other commitments that would prevent me from regularly attending my VET class.
- I understand that I may jeopardise my Preliminary/HSC if I don't meet NESA course requirements.
- I will catch up on work missed at school as a result of attending my VET course at the RTO.

- I will also strive to manage my time effectively by:

- - arriving to class on time;
  - preparing thoroughly for my lessons by:

- - reading notes before class;
  - bringing my books, equipment, materials/uniform to class.
